Prof. Agostino Monorchio joins Directed Energy Research Center’s (DERC) Board of Advisors as its newest member. He provides expert guidance on new approaches for flexible conformal metasurfaces for electromagnetic applications.
Prof. Monorchio is also Full Professor of Electromagnetic Fields at the University of Pisa and has completed several research and consultancy tenures at the Electromagnetic Communication Laboratory at Pennsylvania State University (USA), at the University of Granada (Spain) and at various research institutes and universities in China. He has also served as principal scientific investigator on multiple research projects across the European Union.
Prof. Monorchio’s core research interests include computational electromagnetics, microwave metamaterials, radio propagation for wireless systems, the design and miniaturisation of antennas and electromagnetic compatibility, and biomedical microwaves applications.
Prof. Monorchio holds a PhD in Methods and Technologies for Environmental Monitoring and a bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering from the University of Pisa in Italy.
