Our heartiest congratulations to Fatima Al Nuaimi, Senior Associate Researcher, and her team members - Dr. Pietro Tedeschi, Senior Security Researcher, and Dr. Enrico Natalizio, Vice President at the Autonomous Robotics Research Center (ARRC) - for having their research paper published in the peer-reviewed robotics journal “IEEE Transactions on Industrial Informatics”, with an impact factor equal to 11.648.

Titled “Privacy-Aware Remote Identification for Unmanned Aerial Vehicles: Current Solutions, Potential Threats, and Future Directions”, the paper investigates and systematizes the weaknesses affecting the Remote ID capability required of modern UAVs, and examines the approaches through which attackers can exploit these weaknesses to disrupt safety and accountability.

While providing a comprehensive review of the current solutions that mitigate privacy issues associated with Remote ID, the paper also identifies multiple challenges that industry and academia must address to enhance the security and privacy of UAVs.
