Title:Monitored long-range spin systems
Location:Indoors Arena
Abstract:Monitored quantum systems exhibit various types of non-equilibrium phase transitions, arising from the competition between unitary evolution and measurements/interaction with an external environment. Dissipative phase transitions in steady states Lindblad evolution and measurement induced transitions at the level of quantum trajectories are two primary examples. I will describe the phase diagram of monitored long-range interacting spin systems in the presence of resetting. I will discuss connections to experimental settings and issues related to post-selection.
Bio:Rosario Fazio received his PhD in Physics in 1990 from the University of Catania (Italy). He is currently Head of the Condensed Matter and Statistical Physics Section at the Abdus Salam International Centre for Theoretical Physics in Trieste. He is also professor of theoretical condensed matter at the University of Naples (on leave). Previously he held professor positions at Scuola Normale Superiore (Pisa) and International School for Advanced Studies (SISSA) in Trieste. His research interests are in theoretical condensed matter and quantum information processing focusing on quantum transport in nano-structures, superconductivity, quantum simulators, and non-equilibrium many-body systems.
