Abstract:

Cryptography requires secrets that can be kept safe from attackers. Surprisingly, its a problem that has never really been satisfactorily solved. Here we review some proposed solutions to this age-old problem and consider why keeping secrets has proven to be a really hard thing to do. Along the way we discuss some use cases and war stories. But we end on a positive note – there is a better way!
