Omar Maleki
Omar Al Maleki is a researcher at the Quantum Research Centre (QRC) of the Technology Innovation Institute (TII). He joined TII in February 2021 as a member of the Autonomous Robotics Research Centre (ARRC), where he contributed to projects on swarm robotics and visual-inertial odometry. Omar earned a Bachelor’s degree with Honours in Mathematics and Physics from the University of Surrey in 2020, and completed a Master’s degree in Mathematics at King’s College London in 2023. During his undergraduate studies, he interned with the Atomic Weapons Establishment in 2017 and in post-quantum cryptography at the University of Surrey in 2019. He is currently engaged in research on quantum machine learning and gate-set tomography, and is exploring applications of Riemannian optimization within quantum variational algorithms.
