Dr. Alessandro Candido
Dr. Alessandro Candido joined TII in 2025 to contribute his expertise to the Qibo software framework development, with a particular focus on the hardware control and calibration modules. His professional journey began with a Research Fellowship at CERN, where he was part of the theory department, exploring the potential of quantum computing to solve challenges in High Energy Physics. Dr. Candido's academic foundation includes a Ph.D. (awarded January 2023) from the University of Milan "La Statale". His doctoral research, conducted within the NNPDF collaboration, focused on perturbative Quantum Chromodynamics and the extraction of Parton Distribution Functions. He completed his undergraduate (B.S., 2014-2017) and graduate (M.S.) degrees in Physics from the University of Pisa (2017-2019), and holds a "diploma di licenza" from the Scuola Normale Superiore (2014-2020).
