TII’s own Dr. Abdelrahman AlMahmoud, Principal Big Data and Analytics Researcher at our Secure Systems Research Center (SSRC), will participate in the Working Group on Impact of Science and Technology in Auditing’s (WGSITA) webinar titled “Adopting Digital Mindset in Auditing and Fighting Corruption”, that takes place on June 30, 2022 from 5.30pm to 7.15pm (UAE time).

WGISTA was formed by the International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI) as its forward-looking group dedicated to maintaining expertise within Supreme Audit Institutions (SAIs).

The webinar will discuss the impacts of science and technology on public sector auditing, offering insights from professionals of emerging and advanced technologies on cultivating a culture of technology-embedded and technology-driven audits. The conversation will offer insights to enable Supreme Audit Institutions to improve their managerial capabilities, as well as a value add on how emerging technologies are set to improve accountability and fight corruption.

Dr. AlMahmoud said: “Today, technologies and solutions of the Fourth Industrial Revolution are reshaping the public sector audit landscape. The accurate application of AI and Big Data technologies will enable auditors to process data at a new scale. This webinar will provide an overview of the new strategic direction, highlight how government institutions can excel in applying these technologies, and provide an outlook for new emerging technologies. I look forward to my participation in this timely discussion to present insights that will hopefully add value for Supreme Audit Institutions.”

Dr. AlMahmoud currently leads the Secure Cloud and Machine Learning team at SSRC and has worked in the research domain for over 10 years across focus areas such as Big Data computing paradigms, privacy-preserving analytics/machine learning, cyber security, and robotics.
