Prof. Mérouane Debbah, Chief Researcher, AI and Telecoms Systems at TII and Prof. Eric Xing, President of the Mohamed Bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence (MBZUAI) visited Eric Labaye, President of École Polytechnique, France at the preeminent French institute. During the meeting, they discussed several technical presentations in the field of artificial intelligence and also examined some of the cutting-edge AI research projects and training opportunities of their students. This visit marked a new milestone in the joint effort between MBZUAI and TII to increase visibility and boost the credibility of UAE-led research projects while also strengthening collaborations with the researchers and faculty of École Polytechnique.

École Polytechnique (also known as Polytechnique or l'X) is one of the most prestigious and selective grandes écoles in France. The school was established in 1794 by French mathematician Gaspard Monge during the French Revolution and was once previously a military academy under Napoleon I in 1804. Famous scientific alumni include French mathematician Jules Henri Poincaré, French mechanical engineer Nicolas Léonard Sadi Carnot, Baron Augustin-Louis Cauchy – another French mathematician, civil engineer and physicist Augustin-Jean Fresnel, as well as Benoit B. Mandelbrot, Polish-born French-American mathematician, and most recently, Stéphane Mallat, French applied mathematician, concurrently appointed as Professor at Collège de France and École Normale Supérieure.
