We are pleased to congratulate Dr. Daniel Benevides da Costa, Principal Researcher at the Digital Science Research Center, for his appointment as Associate Editor-in-Chief of the IEEE Open Journal of the Communications Society. Dr. da Costa holds several positions on the editorial board of IEEE, the world’s largest technical professional organization dedicated to advancing technology for the benefit of humanity - and helps oversee several of its publications.
The IEEE Open Journal of the Communications Society is an open access, all-electronic journal that publishes original high-quality manuscripts on advances in the state of the art of telecommunications systems and networks. The journal covers science, technology, applications and standards for information organization, collection and transfer using electronic, optical, and wireless channels and networks.
Dr. da Costa said: “I have worked extensively with IEEE from early in my career and I am honored to bring my experience to help review and produce yet another of its publications. My journey with IEEE started back in 2012 as Associate Editor of the IEEE Communications Letters, and moving forward, I hope to leverage my industry knowledge and work at TII’s Digital Science Research Center to enrich the publication with new insights.”
Dr. da Costa has authored 194 journal papers, 134 conference papers, and 4 book chapters to date, and has to his credit 6,676 citations (according to Google Scholar database). He is also the recipient of several awards – including ranking among the World's Top 2% Scientists from Stanford University in 2020 and among 1% Top Scientists in the world in the broad field of Electronics and Electrical Engineering.
