Uniting Youth with Lessons Learned from Space

Date: 1 December 2023 – Friday Youth Hub (Green Zone) | COP28 Time: 3:00 – 6:00 pm

SCROLL TO EXPLORE

about

Space exploration has been an exhilarating pursuit for many individuals. All of today's technologies have been developed with a sense of curiosity and a desire to explore space. While advancing technology, our primary objective is to contribute both to the betterment of Earth and the exploration of space. However, as technologies evolve, we also observe their side effects on Earth, with climate change being the most prominent indicator.

Consequently, questions arise, such as:

  • Does the joy of exploring space have detrimental effects on our planet?
  • Are we neglecting the protection of our environment in the course of technological development?
  • Is there a sense of selfishness in our approach to space exploration?
About

This workshop aims to foster innovative ideas about climate change through the participation of young professionals and students. Specific questions have been assigned to each roundtable for discussion.

The goal of these questions is to formulate a concrete roadmap for addressing climate change. Each table will be moderated by a senior professional, and participants with diverse backgrounds, including engineering, management, science, policy, etc., will contribute thoughtful and comprehensive observations and recommendations on the five discussion topics at COP28.
